Somewhere in the UK a young Muslim is sitting on the edge of a bed with their phone in their hand. They cannot tell their parents. They will not tell their friends. They are scared of what a doctor might write down.
For twenty-five years, ours has been the number they can call. The person who answers understands the faith, the family and the pressure without needing any of it explained.
Every evening from 4pm to 10pm, trained staff and volunteers answer that call, free and in confidence. They handle over 1,000 enquiries a month, and more than 15,000 last year alone.
“Alhamdulilah I’ve been given that push to carry on and it’s something I needed.”

Project 3000 is the Muslim Youth Helpline‘s monthly giving programme. The aim is simple: 3,000 people each giving £10 a month, so that the UK’s faith-sensitive helpline for young Muslims is funded by many small, steady gifts instead of one big cheque. Everyone who joins becomes a Guardian.
A helpline cannot run on one big cheque. It runs on knowing that next month, and the month after, the money will be there to keep trained people on the phones.
That is why Project 3000 asks for something small from many rather than something big from a few. 3,000 people giving £10 a month is income MYH can plan on. Steady. Shared. Built to last.
This is more than a donation.
It is a role.
A service sustained.
A legacy secured.
A helpline built to last.
Many Guardians set it up as ongoing charity, sadaqah jariyah, given quietly every month without lifting a finger again.
Sadaqah jariyah is charity whose benefit carries on after the gift is made, and the reward carries on with it. A well is one form. A mosque is another. A helpline that keeps answering young Muslims, night after night, is another.
Your £10 a month is ongoing sadaqah in the plainest sense: it is given again every month, and every month it helps pay for a young Muslim’s call to be answered. Many Guardians make the intention on behalf of a parent or a loved one who has passed away, so the reward reaches them too. Others set it up as their own regular sadaqah, taken on the same day each month.
“The deeds most beloved to Allah are those done regularly, even if they are small.”
The Prophet (peace be upon him), reported in Bukhari and Muslim£10 a month, every month, is exactly that. Give sadaqah online today and it is answered tonight.
The heart that gives to the impoverished, is the same heart that answers a young Muslim in a bedroom in Britain tonight. Nobody is asking you to choose.
Hate on the street. Pressure at home. Isolation that nobody sees. Young Muslims here are carrying all of it, and most have nowhere faith-sensitive to take it. £10 a month means the crisis at home has someone on the line too.

Muslim Youth Helpline is a registered charity in England and Wales (charity number 1108354). Since 2001 it has answered young Muslims by phone, web chat, WhatsApp and email, free and in confidence.

Yes. The helpline is free, confidential and non-judgemental. Nothing goes back to family, school or anyone else, which is exactly why young people trust it.
To keeping Muslim Youth Helpline running: the helpline itself, the trained people who answer it, and the support around it. Project 3000 exists so that income is steady enough to plan on.
Payments are processed by Stripe through Fundraise Up, used by thousands of charities. MYH never sees or stores your card details.
If you pay UK tax, HMRC adds 25p for every £1 you give, at no cost to you. A £10 monthly gift becomes £12.50 for the helpline. Just tick the box when you donate.
Sadaqah jariyah is charity with a benefit that continues. A monthly gift that keeps a helpline answering is a clear example: the benefit repeats every evening, for as long as you give. If you would like it recorded as sadaqah jariyah for someone, add their name in the comment box on the form.
Yes. Make the intention when you set it up and, if you wish, add their name in the comment box on the donation form. Many Guardians give in memory of a parent. You can also give in the name of someone who is alive, as a gift on their behalf.
Yes. Choose One-time on the form to give sadaqah online today. Monthly gifts are what let the helpline plan ahead, but every gift helps keep the line open.

No. Muslim Youth Helpline does not accept zakat. Gifts to Project 3000 are sadaqah, and a monthly gift is ongoing sadaqah, so please keep your zakat for a zakat-eligible cause.
